The Public Works Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time regular Utility Operator position. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the Utility Operator will perform tasks pertinent to the operation of wastewater and stormwater collection systems.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, two years of pipefitting/excavating equipment experience in water or wastewater systems, traffic control certification, Occupational First Aid Level 1, and a valid class 5 BC driver’s licence.  Other preferred qualifications include:

• EOCP Level 1 Certification for Wastewater Collection;
• Class 3 B.C. Driver’s licence with air brake endorsement;
• Training in confined space entry and spill response; and
• Training in the operation of construction equipment such as compaction equipment, backhoe, and crane truck.

Salary: $31.30 hourly plus benefits
