Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Field Operations Manager, this individual will be responsible for the logistics of all product moves related to whole goods and accountable for shipping, receiving and customer service relating to the delivery of all equipment, engines, and attachments. They will be working in the guard shack to monitor all equipment going in and out of the yard.


Job Description:

Major Job Functions

  • Coordinate transportation logistic arrangements for equipment, engines and attachments, includes obtaining quotes, negotiating shipping rates and tracking shipments from point of origin to end destination
  • Process transportation purchase order requisitions
  • Coordinate shipping documentation and releases with sales coordinators and branch employees
  • Collaborate with approved logistic carriers on price, and to ensure compliance with Finning’s safety and service requirements
  • Organize incoming and outgoing paperwork for machines and attachments
  • Ensuring all paperwork is recorded and saved in appropriate folders
  • Managing fleet paperwork including quarterly inspections
  • Scheduling of CVIP's and crane inspections for fleet vehicles

Specific Skills

  • Previous freight movement experience is required
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Analytical problem solver
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organization, prioritization and time management skills
  • Proficiency in all aspects of the MS Office package and Transportation Management System (TMS) and a
  • Sound knowledge of the CAT product lines and equipment transportation management processes are considered assets
  • Preference may be given to PLog and CITT students
