Job Description


Our client, a leader in the oil and gas industry is looking for a Senior Technical Writer for a full time 4-month contract in Calgary.

We are looking for an experience with authoring and editing technical procedures, specifications, and business processes and familiarity with transmission pipeline regulatory requirements, authorship guidelines and expectations for regulatory driven controlled documents. Experience with transmission pipeline operations, control center and pipeline control systems would be a benefit.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of program, process and procedure documents, system documentation and formal reports.
  • Can be used for Engineering related work Decision Making involved in highly complex matters and business processes that have impact for the organization and involve Senior Management strategic decisions.
  • May oversee a variety of projects at a time.
  • Can be tasked to manage junior Project Engineers.
  • Can be tasked with redesigning the technical documentation standards.
  • Provide expert technical advice and consultation regarding the development of all formal program and process documents within the department.
  • Provide support for the review of existing procedure documents and the development of new documents within the Operating Procedures Management System.
  • Provide effective facilitation and coordination of input from subject matter experts.
  • Assist in partnering with key stakeholders within the department to develop effective reports, summaries and proposals.
  • Facilitate the development of information and marketing materials for the department.
  • Ensure effective management of documents within the electronic document management system.
  • Can be tasked with managing junior technical writers.
  • Lead the development of program, process and procedure documents and formal reports with a department.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in MS Office. Proven ability to manage multiple projects in deadline driven environment.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
