Position Overview
Take this opportunity to be part of the team that develops Maya - the most powerful modeling, animation, and rendering software package. By joining the Maya team you will become an active contributor to the growing success of this industry-leading digital content creation package.
Working with some of the biggest names in game and film, you’ll build the Maya USD layout, animation and setup workflows they need to thrill audiences with visually complex worlds and characters. You’ll contribute to a broad range of problems in both Maya and open source projects, including artist tools and workflows, scene-representation and data schemas, and collaborating with other developers across the entertainment industry.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need a solid foundation in programming and computer graphics, and a desire to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done no matter the challenge. This is your chance to work with a highly experienced engineering team and some of the biggest entertainment customers in the industry, helping to define the future of Maya.

  • Develop high quality, stable code
  • Implement compelling workflows allowing integration of Maya in Film and Games pipelines
  • Propose, take ownership, and develop key new features

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong C++ development and object-oriented design skills
  • Solid understanding of computer graphics algorithms and implementations
  • Great communication skills and proven ability to work as part of a team
  • 5 to 8 years of general programming experience
  • Understanding of spoken and written English

Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry experience in either high-end film or game industry
  • Experience setting up or contributing to open source software
  • Working knowledge of game or film character pipelines and workflows
  • General knowledge of a 3D modeling, animation and rendering applications
  • Cross-platform development experience (Windows, Linux, OS X)
  • Experience with Python, MEL or the Maya API
