Position Summary


The FSTD Test Engineer must be a highly-motivated, self-driven team player that has the ability to perform in a fast-changing business environment. The FSTD Test Engineer is primarily responsible for the conduct and management of flight simulation training device (FSTD) acceptance test procedures at our Ville St-Laurent plant and at customer locations throughout the world as required, dealing closely with customer and regulatory authority representatives.


The FSTD Test Engineer reports to the Manager, Validation & Acceptance.



·  Participate in development, modification and conduct of acceptance test procedures for FSTD projects.

·  Conduct Test Readiness Reviews and Gates prior to commencing any testing or acceptance to ensure FSTDs have met defined completion milestones

·  Manage test scheduled and test plans of FSTDs (usually with a type rated pilot)

·   Support in-plant customer acceptance and qualification of the Flight Simulation Training Device

·   Document/communicate as required all hardware and software anomalies found during testing.

·  Support the engineering departments as required during the investigation of anomalies.

·   Assist and guide customers during their evaluation of FSTDs in plant and when necessary at the client site upon delivery.



·     Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Aerospace)

·     Flight time or pilot’s license (PPL) would be an asset

·     Knowledge of avionics and aircraft systems would be an asset

·    Experience with Airbus and/or Boeing training products would be an asset

·   Must work well in a team environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

·     Customer service or project management experience.

·   Thorough command of the English language (oral and written with good technical writing skills). Preferably a second language at conversational level.

·     Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office utilitites.

·   Willing to work flexible schedules, and potentially travel to worldwide locations for extended periods of time.

·     Must be autonomous, methodical and structured.

·    Detail-oriented with good organizational and time-management skills
