Salary Range: $38.680-$48.473 Hourly
We are seeking a creative, proactive and hard-working individual to develop and implement policy and programs related to adult basic education and skills training across the province. The individual will have the ability to solve problems by focusing on the client and using creative solutions. Their values and work experience will reveal a commitment to integrity, professionalism and teamwork. The individual must have exceptional policy analysis and program development skills in order to evaluate the effectiveness of, and make necessary adjustments to, basic education and skills training policies and programs for adults. Strong research and statistical analysis skills are required to provide recommendations and produce options for piloting and implementing new policies and initiatives that will provide for maximum impact and the optimal use of resources.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Saskatchewan’s post-secondary institutions and trends and issues related to adult basic education and skills training programs. You will be a strong leader who is required to build collaborative relationships with Saskatchewan’s regional colleges, Saskatchewan Polytechnic campuses, Dumont Technical Institute, Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies and community-based organizations to identify opportunities to improve and to strengthen outcomes. This work will require diplomacy and effective communication skills, as well as advanced writing and analytical skills in order to provide solutions and strategic advice.
The ideal candidate will have gained the required knowledge and abilities through completion of a graduate degree in public administration, education, social science, or related field, or through completion of an undergraduate degree and relevant experience in research and public policy. Knowledge of education policy, programs and curriculum, and/or economic, labour market and demographic trends and issues will be an asset.
