The TELUS Heath - Patient Engagement team works with large public section organizations to deliver provincial wide solutions and are looking for experienced business analysts to support complex projects in a client facing environment.

The successful candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter that can cultivate strategic partnerships, assess user business needs to design and build strong business processes that will translate into system requirements and design, collaborate with initiative project manager(s) and work stream leads to ensure effective communication and implementation of clinical system solutions, business processes and operational functionality to ensure the objectives of client projects are achieved.


Here's how
  • Requirements definitions through the assessment and interpretation of business, clinical, and end user needs and requirements, and translate specific portions of the requirements into specific system requirements
  • Requirements documentation by facilitating discussions and documenting solution requirements, design, testing implementation, training and support procedures; fact finding, team facilitation - combined with a basic understanding of business/clinical systems
  • Impact/gap analysis by assessing and documenting the business/clinical impact of options related to system features/functions, configuration and workflows
  • Options assessments by supporting the project manager with impact analysis of alternatives and assists with developing recommendations to meet project deliverables
  • Process development and documentation of end to end business workflows related to the initiative and support the ongoing operational support for the solution; lead process/workflows process development to ensure an ongoing and sustainable improvement process in support of the program’s goals and objectives
  • Quality management through participation in system validation processes and support the project manager in tracking and resolution to go live acceptance
  • Project administration support for project manager by supporting the creation of status reports, issues/risk tracking, and schedule management
  • Work collaboratively - under the guidance of the project manager - with business stakeholders, vendors, technical resources and external customers to deliver reliable consistent and customer focused implementations



Qualifications

 
You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Graduate or undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Health Informatics, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Health Management, clinical profession or related discipline
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Communications or equivalent work experience, management consulting preferred
  • Process improvement and change management
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience as business analyst and/or business consulting position in a service operations or consumer business environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ prior experience in healthcare with a particular focus on clinical system/IT implementation
  • Experience in Microsoft (MS) Office tools used for project management - specifically MS Project, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
  • Experience assessing business and clinical needs and building consensus between groups with divergent needs and viewpoints
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dependencies impacting a successful clinical implementation including but not limited to Privacy & Security, System Readiness, Business Readiness, Change Management, Issue Management, Training & Operational Support
  • Demonstrated capacity for problem solving, analytics, and making sound recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience working with large government clients or health care organizations

Great-to-have
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (or equivalent) desirable
