Unit Summary 3C Pediatric Medicine & Intermediate Care Unit at McMaster Children's Hospital provides inpatient tertiary, acute and sub speciality care to pediatric medical patients . This is a dynamic, fast paced acute care unit where specialized medical care is provided to children with complex congenital abnormalities, endocrine, gastrointestinal, cardiac, respiratory, musculoskeletal disorders, neurology as well as pediatric trauma. Environment. 

Position Summary

 

This position involves working with a diverse pediatric population with a focus on the care of children and families in inpatient primarily, and outpatient settings.

 
Schedule Work Hours 

Monday to Friday; days

This position is temporary until February 2019.

 

Qualifications

 

1. Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario or eligibility for registration
2. Baccalaureate Degree in Applied Human Nutrition or Baccalaureate of Science and successful completion of dietetic internship
3. Minimum of 1 years experience in a tertiary care Pediatric setting within the last 3 years
4. Knowledge and abilities in patient/family education
5. Knowledge, skills and abilities in caring for infants, children and adolescents as well as their families within the scope of the role of Dietitian
6. Excellent communication skills
7. Ability to work effectively with the interdisciplinary team
8. Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment
9. Strong interpersonal skills and awareness of linkage with social work for children with nutritional issues
10. Demonstrates knowledge of evidence based practice
11. Participates in education and research activities
12. Membership with Dietitians of Canada required
