Job Description

The Purchase Coordinator is an exciting role that completes a wide variety of important purchasing functions for the Category Managers and retail stores. This is a permanent fulltime position.

What you will be doing:

  • Supports retail stores by entering all new outside purchase item requests on a daily basis by required deadline
  • Investigates and resolves pricing issues and inquiries from stores and the help desk, including item descriptions, barcodes and store level pricing issues
  • Sets up new Outside Purchase vendors in system and responsible for the maintenance of this database
  • Inputs store structure, price region, and price lane changes
  • Maintains item information
  • Maintains retail price database in the system for corporately approved brands or as required
  • Maintains competitive wholesale catalogue library by requesting updates, receiving and scanning updates to network drives and keeping hard copies up to date
  • Complete franchise outside purchase reviews as assigned

Required experience to do the job:

  • 2-4 years in a supporting role in a purchasing/buying department, ideally in a retail environment
  • Intermediate MS Office skills including Word, Excel, Access  (must know pivot tables & v-lookup functions)
  • Strong customer-centered focus
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and deadline driven environment (sense of urgency)
  • Demonstrates an eye for detail and business acumen
  • Analytically-minded, able to quickly see trends and comfortable working with data
