Job Description

AECOM's Victoria, BC office is seeking a Project Management Coordinator reporting to Project Directors to assist in the delivery of Municipal Infrastructure Projects such as linear infrastructure, water /wastewater treatment, stormwater management, etc.
We require an Engineer and/or Technologist to assist with project management functions. The appropriately qualified candidate would ideally have experience in municipal works, project coordination, contract administration and/or site inspection, but also show a propensity for the administrative aspects of project delivery and an eventual goal of becoming a full project manager.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist Project Managers with project administration, internal reporting, progress measurement, and financial management using the earned value method
  • Assist Project Managers with monthly reporting for project status and invoicing
  • Ensure implementation of AECOM's Quality Management System with each project
  • Prepare project health and safety plans as needed
  • Provide general project and administrative support for the entire group
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Marketing Coordinators for formatting and production of proposals and major reports

Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Strong and proven oral and written communication skills
  • Strong proof-reading skills
  • Ability to work in an environment that emphasizes quality standards and processes
  • Effective planning and organizational skills; detail-oriented and deadline driven
  • Work well independently and as part of a team; solid work ethic
  • Fast learner; quickly incorporate and implement new procedures
  • High energy, enthusiastic and dependable individual; excels in challenging environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related field
  • Construction Contract Administration, Inspection, Project Management, Asset Management
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Project
