Job Description

Are you competent in USA Payroll and specifically with ADP Workforce Now? Do you have great attention to detail? Our client is looking for an individual to complete a one month contract with the potential of going permanent.  If you feel you could excel at this opportunity please apply below. 
Job Responsibilities 

  • Prepare US and Canadian biweekly payroll for disbursement and record all activity to the GL
  • Conduct payroll for hourly, salary and contractor employees
  • Track and deduct all statutory payroll deductions
  • Ensure all timesheet data is entered on a timely basis
  • Calculate overtime and/or shift differentials
  • Prepare all required statutory remittances and reconcile general ledger payroll payable accounts
  • Manage payments and deductions for Canadian pension and US 401K plans
  •  Ensure all required statutory reporting and compliance is completed for Canada and USA
  • Assist HR with various employee matters including workers compensation, disability claims, insurance claims etc
  • Process payroll related expense claims
  • Ensure entries are completed within month end finance deadlines
  • Maintain strong relationships with external parties including ADP, benefit companies, benefit consultants and Canadian/US state government bodies
  • Assist HR with projects as directed

Candidate Qualifications 

  • Degree or Diploma in Payroll Administration, CPM designation an asset but not required
  • Extensive experience in a payroll role including payroll and benefits for Canada and US with complimentary accounting experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrates initiative and deadline oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve and streamline processes
  • Experience with ADP system implementation would be ideal, particularly ADP Comprehensive HR plus benefits modules (USA) (ADP Workforce Now)
