The Opportunity OR What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, full cycle payroll administrator to join our small but mighty team of payroll experts.  This group of 3 reports into Corporate Financial Services, and works closely with the business and HR. Someone with strong attention to detail and excellent customer service would be ideal for this multi intercompany position, and will be expected to utilize their keen knowledge of finance and accounting functions.


What you’ll be responsible for day to day:

  • Processing of hourly and salaried payrolls and maintain payroll information as required
  • First point of contact for employees for time, attendance and payroll queries
  • Data entry for all time and attendance/new hires, terminations, leaves of absence, benefits, garnishments, etc.
  • Processing WSIB remittances, United Way,  Pension , and any other payroll related remittances
  • Prepare and maintain standard and ad hoc reports, queries and conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity
  • Assist with processing of T4’s
  • Daily administrative duties, filing, providing letters to employees, etc.
  • Involved with processing and verification of annual increases, bonus payments/ RRSP transfers
  • Finance/accounting tasks such as journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and reporting
  • Problem solving and analysis for any foreseeable discrepencies


Who we’re looking for:



  • Post secondary education or the equivalent combination of education and progressive work experience.
  • Completed or working towards the completion of a PCP designation



  • A minimum of 2-3 years payroll experience; preferably with a high volume payroll.
  • Working experience with SAP and Ceridian Payroll Systems, and Microsoft Word
  • Prior hands-on experience with exporting and manipulating data in Excel
  • Sound knowledge of the Employment Standards Act, Taxable Benefits
  • Excellent demonstrated attention to detail
  • Adheres to tight deadlines
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork are essential


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ceridian Dayforce Knowledge a definite asset
