During this 8 month internship, the Marketing Associate plays a critical role in assisting the development and execution of marketing activities / in store program in line with the business plans.  This includes leading special projects as identified by the leadership team, manage Product Fixed Marketing Expenditure (PFME), monitoring brand performance, and analyzing brand health metrics. The successful candidate will also help the Marketing Manager to maximize the Availability, Visibility and Accessibility (AVA) of beverages products throughout Canada. 
 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Support execution of approved consumer plans/in store initiatives (Product, packaging, consumer support) per brand essence and vision within approved budgets and timelines.
  • Support the development and execution of the AVA and POS portfolio for key initiatives on various beverage brands.
  • Help liaise with Retail Sales to ensure best in class communication, management and deployment of the POS tools. 
  • Support development of presentations, marketing & sales materials and special projects.
  • Manage set up and logistics of various unique sampling programs ensuring program requirements are met  
  • Contribute to fact based analytical support to identify business issues/opportunities. Monitor and analyze brand and competitor performance vs. established KPIs (market share, brand health, profitability).
  • Lead the planning & execution of logistics of numerous consumer events, sales meetings and tradeshows.
  • Support & coordinate the marketing team inputs and materials for the Integrated Commercial Planning Process.
  • Build and maintain knowledge base/catalogue of merchandising initiatives – retailer, competitive as well as trends in the marketplace. 
  • Manage relationship and day-to-day operations with fulfillment partner, ensuring efficient & effective management of inventory, and sample/material replenishment at a national level.
  • Manage and track purchase orders, invoices and vendor follow ups on behalf of all business units.
  • Assist in general administration including setting meetings, internal event management and preparation of marketing presentations.

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in Business Administration, preferably with a focus in marketing finance.
  • Recent graduate Minimum 1-2 years of experience in analytic marketing/sales positions.
  • Background with major retail or CPG Expertise is required.
  • Highly developed analytical, technical and problem-solving skills; Ability to generate actionable insight out of big data.
  • Ability to disseminate and synthesize diverse and vast data while communicating simply to non-analytic audience.
  • High level of knowledge of Nielsen research.
  • Energetic, Self-Starter, detailed oriented with strong Project management skills.
  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Previous experience with POS/Loyalty Data is preferred.
