Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager will support and report to the National Maintenance Manager. This position is responsible for planning and directing the preventative maintenance in regional facilities. The successful candidate will develop, communicate, and ensure the effective implementation of operational procedure. This position is also responsible for overseeing all daily work activities to ensure customer quality, productivity, service and delivery commitments are met.

Position Responsibilities

Ÿ Exhibit the desired behaviors that support our mission and values
Ÿ Provide direction and support to departmental Team Leaders, Team Members, including contractual vendors
Ÿ Oversee the scheduling and coordination of the computerized maintenance program
Ÿ Organize, communicate and monitor all maintenance department functions
Ÿ Participate in project planning, capx submission, scheduling and commissioning
Ÿ Prioritize and delegate work requests and provide feedback on project/work status
Ÿ Manage inventory of equipment
Ÿ Ensure adequate staffing levels are kept by hiring, training and developing departmental Team Members
Ÿ Ensure all Health & Safety, WHMIS and MSDS regulations are followed
Ÿ Participate in management and departmental meetings
Ÿ Active participant on cross-functional team and assume management responsibilities where applicable
Ÿ Oversee operational equipment and facility maintenance including the operation and monitoring of automated conveyor systems
Ÿ To ensure the implementation and maintenance of an effective system of management for occupational health and safety (OH&S) consistent with the Act and other legislative requirements.
Ÿ Participate in departmental budget and labor planning budget preparation

Ÿ Previous experience working in a distribution environment with automated conveyor systems is considered an asset
Ÿ Electrical and or Millwright ticket, Management Designation
Ÿ Basic knowledge of Electrical and Millwright and Industrial applications, PLC, VFD, BMS.
Ÿ Knowledge of Provincial Health & Safety Regulations, Occupational Health and Safety Law.
Ÿ Previous project planning experience an asset
Ÿ 3+ years Management experience
Ÿ Post-Secondary education
Ÿ Effective problem solving skills, delegate and follow-up on tasks assigned
Ÿ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ÿ Strong administrative, organizational and analytical problem solving skills
Ÿ Goal focused with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks/projects in a fast paced environment with a high attention to detail
Ÿ Able to troubleshoot issues, anticipate problems and make logical decisions
Ÿ Ability to support across all shifts as required
Ÿ Ability to interpret financial spreadsheet information
Ÿ Ability to work independently as well as with a multidisciplinary group.
Ÿ Possess superior communication skills including written and verbal.

Ÿ Frequent requirement for attention to detail.
Ÿ This position requires confidentiality in dealing with client information, employee performance information and specific business objectives and financial information of the Company
Ÿ Able to work in a typical office environment as well as be exposed to all areas of the warehouse where exposure to machines and low level noise, equipment, and changes in temperature.
