BUSINESS UNIT AND ROLE OVERVIEW The role will entail working within the Legal legal team in Frankfurt in close cooperation with our colleagues in other locations, especially with the Sales and Trading, Regulatory Reform and other teams in London.


The role will support especially of businesses related to our Securities division, including relevant regulatory interactions. The role requires the ability to work independently from day one and to manage a diverse and complex workload. The role also involves engagement with a range of industry associations in order to stay connected with industry initiatives and influence industry outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities include providing guidance to our traders, sales people and control areas on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters, assisting in processes for the build-up of new businesses, advising on the regulatory aspects of these businesses and negotiations on documentation, including terms of business, confidentiality agreements, brokerage agreements, primary dealer agreements and custody agreements. It also involves advising on issues associated with our membership of exchanges and other trading venues and general trading queries. There will also be opportunities to become involved in regulatory initiatives and assist with the implementation of regulatory projects. SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • We are targeting qualified lawyers in the 2-6 years PQE range, although would be willing to consider candidates with a different experience profile
  • Candidates who can demonstrate a strong grounding in either securities or derivatives law and regulation are preferred (although other candidates will be considered)
  • Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate relevant post-qualification experience either with a reputable law firm or as in-house counsel, preferably within a financial institution
