The Ministry is seeking a highly motivated, strategic and innovative Leader, Strategic Planning & Continuous Improvement for the Strategic Management Branch. Primary position accountabilities include leading and managing a comprehensive organizational planning and continuous improvement management system within the Ministry. This system enables Ministry leaders to establish strategy, provides good governance, and enhances accountability for Ministry investments in programs and service delivery through continuous improvement efforts.
Primary position accountabilities include the development, governance and reporting of Ministry four-year, tactical and annual plans that enable the Ministry’s strategic direction and priorities, within Government’s Planning and Accountability Management System; and leading and supporting continuous improvement efforts within the Ministry, assessing alignment, effectiveness, and efficiency of Ministry investments in programs and service delivery.
The position will develop, guide and support strategic planning to enable the Ministry’s strategic direction and priorities.  The incumbent will lead planning and review teams, provide guidance, direction and support to staff on planning and review activity, and communicate progress to senior officials.  The position requires a self-starter with leadership and interpersonal skills, along with a strong strategic orientation and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through the completion of a degree or post-graduate degree in Public Administration, Commerce, or other social science discipline, and several years of related professional experience. This will be a one-year term opportunity.
