This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sewers division of our Engineering department as a seasonal Labourer.  Current opportunities offer full time hours for assignments from early spring through to early winter, with the possibility of extension.  Joining our Labourer team is a great stepping stone to begin your municipal career!

Duties and responsibilities of Labourers working in our Sewers division include, but are not restricted to:

• Sanitary and Storm Sewer maintenance
• Sanitary and Storm Sewer construction
• Installation and rehabilitation of small to large diameter pipe
• Trench excavation
• Other related duties as required by the department

This position requires knowledge and skills in the methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in construction and maintenance work. Sufficient physical strength, stamina, and coordination are required. Advanced courses in Public Works and wastewater collection are desirable for this position. Applicants should highlight residential and commercial labouring, construction, and/or piping experience. Experience in the rehabilitation of sewer pipes using Trenchless methods would be an asset. Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.

Hours of work:  Monday to Friday (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
