Job Summary

The Human Resources Assistant role is a development position suitable for a 3rd or 4th year student in a related business stream looking to experience the human resources function. The HR Intern's main role will be to provide support on general human resources activities and maintain human resources databases and files.

The HR Assistant will also provide assistance on various ad hoc projects and tasks, as assigned by the human resources team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with a wide range of administrative processes associated with employee surveys, recruitment, compensation and benefits, generating reports and metrics, etc.
  • Manage employee rewards and recognition program.
  • Onboard/offboard employees, including conducting new hire orientations and completing exit checklists.
  • Prepare bimonthly human resources reports for the Human Resources team.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partner to accomplish tasks.
  • Detailed, error-free and timely management of human resources databases and files.
  • Provide support on general human resources activities.
  • Apply basic human resources education to real-life applications.
  • Assist with the planning and support of company events when required.
  • Compliance with all Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. policies, procedures and training requirements.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Enrolled in Bachelor's Degree in Business or Commerce with a specialization in Human Resources.
  • Fast learner and an open mind to learning new things.
  • Good initiative and teamwork skills; willing to pitch in and help beyond current work scope.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate (both written and oral).
  • Ability to exercise discretion, initiative and confidentiality when required.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
