HR Payroll & Benefits Specialist


  • Act as first point of contact for all Payroll and Benefit enquiries.
  • Enter all enrolment and change forms on Manulife website. Liaises with Manulife when there are escalated employee coverage issues; manages disability leaves.
  • Carry out reporting of monthly/quarterly benefit premiums; including Manulife, WSIB, WCB.
  • Calculates monthly employee pension contributions and remits details and electronic payment to Sun Life for processing.
  • Enters and maintains data in the computerized Payroll/HRIS system
  • Tracks and prepares all information and documentation for Service Awards; including monthly reports to ensure all service awards are presented in a timely manner.
  • Prepare annual HR Budget Forecasts
  • Ensures the accurate tracking and retrieval of attendance records, vacation requests, and generates a variety of reports


  • University degree or College Diploma in Human Resources/Business or a related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years in Human Resources with specialization in Payroll
  • Ceridian Payroll and HRIS Software experience will be considered an asset
  • Accounting and mathematical skills - Completion of Payroll Certification preferred
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, extremely reliable, very precise and diligent in executing
