Part-Time Graphic Designer - News / Weather

Overview:
CityNews’s objective is to present the viewer with up to date coverage of local news content. It is a destination for Torontonians while having the ability to tell compelling stories around local events that have both resonance and relevance. Storytelling is well positioned to become a difference maker, providing an informative and accurate editorial voice while strengthening broadcast quality. With this emphasis on storytelling, the Graphic Designer will help develop and execute the unique CityNews brand via graphic content generation while aiming to increase CityNews’s market penetration, ratings, viewership and social media reach. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver integrated graphic content utilizing Adobe Creative Cloud platforms that achieve insight for stories, profiles, interviews and documentaries as a member of CityNews’s award-winning team.

• Generate, research and pitch graphic ideas while following the process through control room final and edit suite production.

• Create and work within branded templates to achieve high-end broadcast production. 

• When required, include pitching original conceptual graphic creative to help tell the story in a more meaningful way.

Qualifications:

• Two (2) years professional Broadcast experience

• Proven Adobe Creative Suite experience

• Cinema 4D experience a huge plus

• Strong technical and communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong sense of personal ownership and experience working in a high performance environment

• Accepting of a unique culture that respects others, has fun and values innovation

• Pushes the envelope creatively

Schedule: Part Time

Shift: Weekend
