What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Senior Director, Human Resources Strategic Initiatives, the Senior Project Manager plays a key role in managing and delivering the project plans for the Employee Workplace Experience and Change Management workstreams within the CIBC Square project. You will be accountable for managing a large project plan and will have a high level of interaction with workstream leads and project managers, stakeholders from across the organization, and senior leaders. You will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires a high tolerance for ambiguity and problem solving.
How You’ll Succeed
Project Leadership – You will be responsible for leading and managing a large and complex workstream within the CIBC Square project, ensuring the project deliverables meet expectations. Preparing project plans to manage the timely delivery of Business Requirements, Use Cases, Implementation Plans and other business project deliverables. Lead the identification and documentation of business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications and use cases.
Project Control – Conduct regularly scheduled status reviews and updates, provide business guidance, identify deviations to work plan and recommend corrective action, identify and rectify potential issues / constraints that impact project success. Verify requirements against industry, financial and regulatory standards and resolve issues through meetings with various departments. Determine risk to the project plan and the application for each issue and co-ordinate decision making to proceed on issues with high importance. Responsible for the ongoing management of the project schedule; including weekly updates, variance analysis, and identifying integration points across the entire CIBC Square project plan. Lead the design and execution of the implementation plans to support the various phases of the project. Monitor the completion of major milestones and, if necessary, reassign project priorities to maintain the project schedule.
Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Work closely with teams as you work toward a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary. Analyze the efficiency of specific practices and procedures used by the project team; and make related proposals and recommendations. Plan and implement defined solutions to meet identified challenges; with a focus on delivering best-in-class client and employee experience.

You have 5-10 years experience in Project Management demonstrating a deep understanding of the practices, procedures, and principles required to analyze detailed concepts, quickly resolve project issues, and assess the advantages and disadvantages of solutions. It’s an asset if you have knowledge of HR processes, CIBC systems and/or financial services industry.
