Oak Bay Police Department


The Oak Bay Police Department is seeking a highly motivated administrative support professional to assume the duties of an Executive Assistant within the Office of the Chief Constable due to the incumbent’s retirement.

The Executive Assistant provides highly confidential senior administrative services to the Chief Constable, Deputy Chief Constable, and the staff of the department. This position demands the utmost professionalism, judgement, confidentiality, and the ability to prioritize and be adaptable to changing priorities.  Minimal supervision is received from the Chief Constable.

This is an exempt position, working 35 hours a week. 

Job Description
The Executive Assistant provides varied and complex administrative services including the day-to-day financial management of the department, assisting in the development of the department budget, maintaining personnel and payroll records, making travel arrangements, creating agendas and taking minutes while fulfilling the role of Secretary to the Oak Bay Police Board.  The ability to provide exemplary customer service to a wide variety of stakeholders is essential.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree or diploma in Public/Business Administration, Finance or related field and a minimum of five years directly related and progressive experience, including working with senior level staff. A combination of education and experience will be considered.  Must be able to pass a police security clearance.

The salary range for this position is $74,600 - $78,550 (2021 rate)
