Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Document Controller to be based in our CNRL Horizon location in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
This position will be a member of the team responsible for the care and handling of enterprise-wide company and project documents, which includes electronic records management, distribution, classification, and retention. Project Information Management utilizes the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on all project and company information throughout the organization.
May include the following responsibilities:
  • Performs data entry and maintains and organizes project and engineering information into an enterprise content management system.
  • Identifies and extracts reports and performs queries from enterprise content management system.
  • Oversees internal and external document review process.
  • Maintains proper information configuration management in support of engineering and construction.
  • Interfaces with project material control, scheduling, expediting, construction, and client engineering to ensure time/cost effectiveness of all documentation activities.
  • Administers field / construction information management processes and procedures.
  • Under direct supervision, follows standard procedures, processes and techniques to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Performs data entry into an electronic document management system.
  • Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher/more experienced levels.
  • May prepare and maintain project filing system.
  • Assists in the receiving, processing, monitoring, and expediting of internal and external distribution of engineering and supplier documentation.
Shift rotation : 7/7
Minimum Requirements
  • High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 5 years of related experience in document controls or technical assistance or information managment.
  • Knowledge and experience with enterprise content management systems and Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Ability to maintain and organize engineering and construction documentation on an enterprise content management system.
  • Strong organization and detail-orientation skils.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work in fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to travel.
  • CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid computer skills and experience with Microsoft Windows applications preferred.
