The Director of Marketing, Core Brands role is a key position within the Marketing team. We are looking for creative leader with a proven track record of delivering game changing marketing. The position is responsible for a portfolio of some of Canada’s largest wines including Jackson-Triggs, Inniskillin, Bodacious and Naked Grape, among others. With strong leadership experience, they will inspire a dedicated team of marketers in the strategic development of their portfolio including the strategy development for brand, communications, go-to-market, and innovation. They will also oversee creative, media and promotion execution for the portfolio.

Plans and implements long-term marketing portfolio strategy, including:
- portfolio brand strategy and positioning
- portfolio pricing strategy
- innovation strategy (including brand renovation, extension & adjacency)
- portfolio communication strategies
Leads and coaches their team in the planning and implementation of annual brand plans for their portfolio of brands
Works closely with their cross functional peers to ensure seamless integration and execution of consumer-led strategies (Insights, Sales, Customer Marketing, Finance, Operations)
Coaches the team on all aspects of brand management for portfolio or category of brands, including strategy, positioning, pricing, advertising / media, promotions, ROIC initiatives, and P&L management, with a keen eye to ongoing portfolio management.
Inspires and manages strong agency relationships with an impressive roster of partners in creative, design, media and PR.
Develops a strong marketing team by training and coaching in all elements of the business with a focus on portfolio, brand and communication strategy. Establishes clear goals and IDP’s.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
- Education: University Degree with focus on Marketing (MBA an asset)
- Experience: 2+ years at Director level managing 5+ people within CPG or other consumer-centric industry; 10+ total years experience
- Bilingual is an asset
