Position Summary:

As a Senior Accountant at Equifax Canada, you will co-ordinate and manage the revenue team to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting. The Senior Accountant will also be heavily involved and often lead finance and wider business projects, reporting into the Assistant Financial Controller.

As part of the Finance Team, you will lead the revenue accounting for all lines of business, consumer and commercial. The Finance Team is accountable for reporting all accounting in compliance with US accounting regulations and US GAAP standards.

Additional responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:

  • Revenue accounting for Equifax Canada, in compliance with US accounting regulations and US GAAP standards
  • Management of the accounting for revenue generating projects
  • Preparation of month-end reports, commentaries and variance analysis to senior management
  • Management of the sales contract review process and input into customer opportunities
  • Review and approval of monthly commission payments for the sales force
  • Support the FP&A team in forecasting and budgeting
  • Involvement with, and occasional leadership of, multi-functional projects and business initiatives
  • Involvement in the production of customer invoices and management of authorization workflows
  • Quarterly contract reviews of material contracts

Required skills of the Senior Accountant:

  • 5+ years’ management accounting experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial staff
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build good relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience of using Oracle Financials system for:
    • Monthly management accounts
    • Report writing and maintenance 
    • Foreign currency accounting
  • Advanced Excel Skills

Preferred skills of the Senior Accountant:

  • Knowledge of US GAAP accounting
  • Experience working for a global Corporation
  • Experience working with an offshored shared service centre  

Education:

  • Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • University Degree in accounting
