About the role

We have multiple opportunities for Data Engineers to work with challenging and exciting analytics problems and make a positive impact on the business while engaging with a global team of technology experts and engineers.
Reporting to the Principal Data Scientist you will support the PACE data analytics team to design and continually improve services that solve business problems and provide insight to making improved decisions through:
• Designing, building, and deploying data pipelines to serve analytics models
• Utilising the latest available technologies to flexibly manage and scale data pipelines and
• analytics models
• Engineering complex systems to manage big data compute tasks
• Challenging and collaborating to derive new and novel techniques to improve the service
of data to models
• Developing platforms and processes that support the reproducibility of results.
• Capture and record the intellectual property generated.
• Share what has been developed in GitHub to help foster a new generation of data-driven
decision
• makers and enable them to improve upon what has already been done
• Engage with clients and key stakeholders to build their understanding of data analytics
• Help the broader PACE team and client prioritize by advising technical complexity of identified
• opportunities
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to support the deployment and continuity of the
analytics
• products developed

About you
You will ideally have a postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field combined with several years of experience in data science projects, preferably using agile methodologies.
You should also have experience with some or all of the below:
• Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures and data sets
• Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency
and workload management
• Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing and highly scalable ‘big data’
data stores.
• Systems modeling, simulation, algorithm development, model deployment, and lifecycle.
• Data storage technologies, data modeling, and API's.
• Implementation of data science projects, including familiarity with machine learning
libraries, and frameworks (e.g. Sci-kit Learn, H2O, TensorFlow)
• Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic
environment
• Experience using the following software/tools

- Experience with AWS/Azure cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift, S3Develop and implement a plan for participation at key agriculture conferences, including presentations, content and messaging. Manages the agriculture development projects, budgets and growth targets ensuring milestones are delivered.

What you will need for this role
• Minimum of Bachelors degree in science, marketing, business or industry related field.
• Advanced science (MS or PhD) or MBA is beneficial.
• 10+ years experience in technical or market development roles in agriculture, with 3+
years of managing people preferred.
• 5+ years experience within in-house private organizations or consulting firms in one or
more of the following areas:
• Strategy development and execution
• Agriculture development
• Industrial minerals
• Several years of successfully leading product or market development activity
• Project management
• Demonstrated experience with global market development in agriculture in regions such
as South America, Africa, India, and China
• Demonstrated ability to conduct business analysis, financial modelling or techno-
economic
• evaluation of industrial processes
• Ability to gather data from inside and outside sources and to work with minimal
supervision
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
