POSITION SUMMARY
 
The Indirect Procurement (IP) Assistant Manager for Canada will manage sourcing projects and develop/maintain relationships with key stakeholders at Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) in Canada. The IP Team in Canada addresses these sourcing needs, either by executing themselves, or by connecting stakeholders to the North America IP team in the US (decision made based on capacity, expertise and timings).
 
The Assistant Manager role is responsible for contributing to various Indirect Procurement objectives in order to realize maximum benefit to the business.  The Assistant Manager will support the implementation of category-specific supply strategies, drive select strategic sourcing activities, and help to build supplier relationship management programs for various categories of indirect spend.
 
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional and team player, with demonstrated successful experience in Procurement, preferably in indirect categories of goods and services.
 
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Helps realize maximum benefit to the business by implementing category-specific supply strategies, ensuring that products are specified and optimized with the best supplier input and capabilities and using all demand-sided opportunities with selected suppliers

  • Develops category strategies on a local level in close alignment with stakeholders

  • Plans and conducts low-to-medium complexity sourcing projects, such as Requests for Proposal (RFPs) on a Canadian level, engaging stakeholders and the required cross-functional resources

  • Engages in supplier relationship management (SRM) and implementation of supplier contracts

  • Sets up, implements, and amends contracts ensuring legal adequateness; supports contracting discussions and contract creation process

  • Helps ensure compliance with the category strategies and sourcing projects, taking into consideration Procurement Policy, Directive, Guidelines and local Procurement SOPs as well as legal and regulatory requirements

  • Helps support value generation for the business through better strategizing, structuring and organizing the supply of the assigned categories, including selecting the “right” supplier base

  • Evaluates and defines the supplier base and secures capacity, plan implementation (timeline, resources, cost, …) and align stakeholders

  • Ensures uninterrupted and efficient flow of materials and services by providing operational support as needed

  • Plans and conduct suppliers business reviews including KPI and metrics reporting


 

Qualifications

 
Minimum Education: Degree / Diploma
 
Minimum Years of Experience: 3+ Years
 
Additional Job Specifications:

  • Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), SAP
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Professional Procurement Certification preferred
  • Previous work experience in a Procurement-related field strongly preferred
