What You’ll Be Doing
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital, and grow and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centres around the world. To deliver on its vision to be our clients’ preferred capital markets banking partner across multiple products and services, both in Canada and where our core competencies can be exported.  The Capital Markets mission is to bring Canadian Capital Markets products to Canada and the rest of the world, and also bring the world to Canada.
As an Analyst, Corporate Banking, Cash Management, you will join team to champion CIBC’s vision of being “The Leader in Client Relationships”. You will assist to develop strong relationships with our corporate clients by supporting account teams to deliver superior cash management solutions that simplify and enhance working capital management. This is an entry level role providing an opportunity to learn the products, processes, networks and functions to enable and equip you to eventually progress to manage a portfolio of clients.  You will act as a key interface to internal partners in order to facilitate initial product installation and ongoing troubleshooting and you will apply product and client knowledge in the  development of proposals, ideas and solutions to proactively meet clients’ needs
How You’ll Succeed

  • Relationship Building – Make an impact in your community, and show clients they’re appreciated by engaging in marketing and outreach activities. Develop new client relationships through your business development activities leveraging referral sources, existing clients and centers of influence.

  • Team Collaborate – Collaborate with your team to connect clients with opportunities. Provide Treasury best practices guidance and cash management solutions to meet your client’s needs.

  • Client First- Proactively assess your clients’ needs and propose solutions to deliver to meet those needs. Good understanding of business and financial concepts to effectively articulate the cash management value proposition, as it relates to the impact on financial statements.  Provide continued partnership and support to your clients through understanding there goals and objectives.


Who You Are

  • Qualifications - Experience in Cash Management, preferably in the Large Corporate space; Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or another complementary business industry discipline;  Have or are willing to achieve your CTP designation within 24 months.

  • Key Accountabilities:

    • Assist in providing sound, timely, and well-communicated cash management solutions to our clients and prospects supported by a thorough analysis and a well-executed interpretation of a company’s current treasury practices and industry.

    • Play a key role in the preparation and/or presentation of treasury diagnostics and proposals as well as internal committee presentation documents.

    • Assist in preparing other written documents including business development proposals and company information documents for marketing purposes.

    • Assist on business development calls as required.

    • Build and maintain the group’s databases on a current basis.

    • Coordinate projects and initiatives on a national scale.

    • Must be able to accept flexibility in required personal time commitments to complete work assignments.
