Job Description


Assistant required to perform administration duties in busy office in downtown Vancouver. Some shipping duties also required. 


Duties include:-

• Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail
• Update and maintain databases such as telephone lists
• Retrieve information when requested
• Update and maintain internal staff contact lists
• Coordinate and maintain staff administrative records such as staff seating plan
• Type documents, reports and correspondence
• Coordinate and organize appointments and meetings
• Assist with event planning and implementation
• Monitor office supplies
• Perform work related errands
• Assist with catering
• Keep office area clean and tidy
• Additional duties as requested by Snr. admin 


Skills required
• Preference for proven experience as shipping/receiving clerk
• Great communication and interpersonal abilities
• Keen eye for detail
• Excellent organizational skills
• Basic math and recording abilities
• Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
• Familiar with FedEx and UPS shipping software
• Be able to set up and create International shipments and Commercial Invoices
• Familiarity with international outbound shipping requirements (FCC, FDA & B13A documentation)
• Familiarity with international outbound shipping restrictions
• Handle goods received (ability to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.)
• Able to receive goods safely at highly active dock (familiarity with dock leveler desirable)
• Experience in operation of hand trucks (familiarity with manual pallet jack operation desirable)
• Disposal of packaging materials to garbage containers and separation of recyclables (familiarity with operation of cardboard compactor desirable)
• Maintain shipping room for supplies and cleanliness
• Ability to package goods, including band strapping and shrink wrapping to pallet
• High school diploma
