Accounting Assistant (Accounts Receivable) up to 11 months
Do you have the ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment? Are you able to provide excellent customer service in the billing and collection of outstanding accounts receivable?
If so, come join us as an Accounting Assistant in the Corporate Accounts Receivable team. You will get to apply your knowledge of accounting principles and practices to complete the Accounts Receivable cycle process and perform customer account reconciliations.
Produce customer invoices and statements
Check /review the completeness/accuracy of a variety of financial records and documents including invoices, credit memos, payment remittance documents, customer statements and reports
Prepare detailed customer account reconciliations including charges, adjustments, mail returns, payments, NSF cheques, and refunds
Post billing information, adjustments, and journal entries to customer and related Business Area accounts
Ensure adequate supporting documentation is collected and maintained
Review and analyze customer accounts and respond to customer inquiries and resolve disputed invoices
Follow up on collection of delinquent customer accounts provide customer status reports to operating business areas
Recommend bad debt write-offs
Assist in preparing year-end accounts receivable statements
Completion of a recognized accounting certificate
1 year of accounting experience
Accounts receivable experience is an asset
Knowledge of collection processes for accounts receivable applications
Basic knowledge of accounting, administrative procedures and regulations including GAAP, FOIP and GST
Demonstrated competency in the use of Microsoft Office, Google Applications and Gmail
Basic working knowledge of computer based financial systems like SAP would be considered an asset
Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and accurately under tight deadlines
Ability to contribute as a positive team player in a customer focused service environment
Strong communication skills, being courteous, positive problem-solving skills and being respectful when administering established policies and practices

Salary: $28.125 - $35.296 (Hourly)
